Hydroserve Environmental Solutions (Hydroserve), a division of Conder Products Ltd and a leading UK environmental solutions provider, has recently won a contract to upgrade and service a sewage treatment plant serving the Thames Valley Athletics Centre (TVAC) at Eton College, Windsor.

The TVAC is a new sport and conferencing facility set in the grounds of Eton College.  Home of the Windsor, Slough and Eton Athletic Club, the Centre features an eight-lane synthetic track, field sports facilities, a 650-seat stand, an indoor training area and club rooms.

The TVAC and other nearby Eton College buildings are served by a twin stream sewage treatment plant and associated pump stations.  Hydroserve were invited to tender for refurbishing the plant and providing an ongoing service contract in order to maintain the equipment in good order.

Hydroserve engineers made a detailed survey of the plant and recommended a technical solution to the problem.  The existing equipment has been upgraded, without the need for a new sewage treatment plant and the final effluent meets the Environment Agency consent standard.

As part of a quarterly service contract, Hydroserve will carry out routine mechanical and electrical servicing of the plant along with the regular desludge, on a preventative maintenance programme.  This ongoing maintenance, together with a programme of on-site training for operational staff, will make certain that the equipment operates to its optimum performance, avoiding pollution problems and ensuring that the effluent quality remains within the Environment Agency stipulation.
