INTRODUCTION
Hydroserve provides environmental solutions for the clean and waste water sectors.
Hydroserve acknowledges and recognises that its operations have a direct impact on both the global and local environment through their energy consumption, transportation, purchasing, and waste generation. We are committed to the maintenance of an environmental management system to manage our environmental impacts, prevent pollution, and continuously improve our environmental performance.
Hydroserve are committed to working towards sustainable development in our polices and programmes, to specific actions such as energy conservation, renewable energy generation, reducing pollution from travel, wildlife conservation, greater re-use and recycling of waste, responsible purchasing and raising environmental awareness within the group. The company sets continuous improvement targets and objectives on a regular basis and carries out regular reviews on progress made, setting new objectives where necessary.

Environmental Management
- Maintain an environmental management system to identify and manage our environmental impacts
- Carry out a regular evaluation of Hydroserve environmental performances
- Educate, train and motivate staff of all levels to conduct their activities in an environmentally responsible manner
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation
- Carry out a regular review of the environmental policy to ensure its ongoing effectiveness
Sustainable Development
- Conduct an environmental impact assessment of significant new policies and programmes
- Influence partners, external service and goods providers to work towards sustainable development
- Support local communities to undertake local environmental projects
- Raise the environmental awareness of people connected with Hydroserve
Energy
- Implement actions to achieve reductions in greenhouse gas emissions within Hydroserve operations
- Support and facilitate the reductions in greenhouse gas emissions (such as CO2) by encouraging energy conservation, renewable energy generation and better transport
Renewable Energy
- Encourage and support the greater use of renewable energy within Hydroserve
- Increase the proportion of energy from renewable sources used within Hydroserve
Water
- Implement actions to achieve reductions in water usage within Hydroserve managed buildings
- Support and facilitate water conservation measures within Hydroserve operations
Transport
- Minimise the environmental impact of the fleet vehicles and car mileage, to, from and at work by staff
- Encourage the provision of efficient transport
Purchasing
- Minimise the environmental impact of all Hydroserve purchases of goods and services through a comprehensive Environmental Purchasing Policy
- Work in partnership with suppliers and contractors to minimise the environmental impacts of their goods or services
Waste
- Work towards minimising waste and maximising the re-use, recovery and recycling of materials
- Implement actions to reduce waste and increase recycling within Hydroserve operations and buildings
Biodiversity
- Protect and enhance the natural environment
- Manage land under Hydroserve control for habitat and wildlife benefit
